Who I Am
Geologist, project manager, data nerd, and generalist problem-solver based in Anchorage, Alaska. Over a decade of field and office experience in geotechnical investigation, environmental work, and applied research — from permafrost work in the Arctic to asteroid porosity studies presented at GSA. My work sits at the intersection of subsurface uncertainty and infrastructure decisions, and I care a lot about making complex technical information accessible and usable in the field.
When I’m not on a drill site or writing reports, I’m probably running trails, running a tabletop RPG campaign, building something on a 3D printer, or chasing down some obscure dataset that probably doesn’t have a good visualization yet. This site is where the technical tools live — built for engineers and technicians working in Alaska’s challenging environments, and freely available. Everything here is a personal project and a perpetual work-in-progress.
Planetary Science
Co-authored research on asteroid porosity and internal structure presented at GSA 2015. Ongoing interest in planetary geology and small body science.
3D Printing & Fabrication
FDM printing for tools, terrain, and prototypes. Part of a broader interest in making physical things — especially when a part doesn’t exist yet.
TTRPG Game Mastering
Running tabletop RPG campaigns — world-building, improvisational storytelling, and keeping a table of grown adults on the rails just long enough. Mostly.
Running & Fitness
Trail running in and around Anchorage. Consistent training as a counterweight to desk work — and an excuse to be outside in weather that everyone else is complaining about.
GIS & Remote Sensing
Spatial data analysis, drone operations (FAA Part 107 certified), and mapping applications for geotechnical and environmental projects.
Applied Mathematics
Currently completing a Mathematics for Engineers specialization — finite difference methods, numerical analysis, and the math underlying the thaw consolidation models on this site.
AI & Data Tools
Using AI to accelerate geotechnical workflows, build interactive field tools, and explore what happens when language models and domain expertise work together honestly.
Veteran & Volunteer
US Army Reserve veteran. Currently VP of Administration for PMI Alaska Chapter, VP of AIPG Alaska Section, and keeping a homeowners association from descending into chaos.
